School Thanks BCV - 23 May 2009
BCV's help in creating a wildlife area at Iford and Kingston primary school, near Lewes, has won praise from the headmaster, Andrew Dobell. He spoke of the sheer hard work and effort of the BCV team which had helped advance the project. (full story)

Recent Highlight - 30 July 2006
One of the hardest tasks of recent weeks has taken BCV to Shoreham Beach. There we have been clearing invasive valerian from among rare shingle plants including sea kale, orache and bittersweet. (full story)

Mini-bus OK - 16 April 2006
Our mini-bus is back in action after a slight accident, leaving it looking a little ragged. We are continuing with our normal work programme. (full story)

Another good year - 15 December 2005
BCV members gathered to mark another successful year for the group. It moves into its fifth year of existence with plenty of ideas for the future. The annual general meeting also re-elected key members to the committee to ensure it keeps running smoothly. (full story)

New site - 06 October 2005
BCV has carried out conservation work for the first time at Mill Hill, Shoreham -- an area of rich chalk grassland with spectacular views over the Adur estuary and Lancing College. In return members of the group have taken part in an all-day first aid course organised by the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV). (full story)

Full diary - 29 July 2005
There's a full programme of countryside tasks over the next few months, with outings arranged to sites in the Brighton area and others further afield. The annual round of coppicing is continuing at Stanmer Park and dates have been booked with English Nature, West Sussex County Council and Lewes District Council. (full story)
